February 14-15-16   Presidio YC-Whale Watching- Drakes Bay Cruise

Over Valentine’s and President’s Day Weekend, Fleet 9 is planning a Gala Event beginning at the Presidio Yacht Club at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Cocktails and appetizers will be hosted on JoJo at 5 pm. Feb 14, followed by a Crab Feed at the Yacht Club at $30 p/p. Of course, dinner on board is also an option. Chances are there will be live music following dinner at the Club. Dancing any one? !

Agenda:

Sunday Morning we’ll head out the Gate around 9:30 am after Max Ebb tide at 0812. We’ll then turn north beyond the Potato Patch, to avoid breaking seas, then head up towards Drake’s Bay anchoring in the hook near the Elephant Seal Colony. Participants should keep in mind the seating capacity of each boat when arranging shared dinners aboard.

Note: I urge all members to drink responsibly, since we are using dinghies as our commute vehicles.

If the weather is good we will return along the Marin County Coast on Monday with Slack Tide occurring at 1335 through the Gate.

It’s a given that the weather is a primary consideration as to how the cruise shall be carried out.
