Subject: Rendezvous Website Input

Good Morning Kevin:

Sorry I'm so slow with this input.  It looks like the site is starting to take shape and looks good.  Following are some comments I have.  Please keep in mind that I am not very skilled in computer, internet or website matters so this is the blind giving input to the expert:

1.  When I go into my search the web tab with either www.raft.c380.org or http://raft.c380.org (both work to get me to the site tab) it shows 2008 Rendezvous at Encinal YC to click on.  When I do select that, I get right to the 2009 data you have prepared with no problem.  Is there any way to change the search directory entry to show the 2009 date and location so as not to confuse or discourage anybody?  I am way out of my league here.  NO PROBLEM THERE.  IT JUST TAKES A WHILE FOR THE SEARCH ENGINES TO SHOW A NEW SUMMARY OF INFORMATION

2.  In the new and revised text, you refer to "begin the raft", and later to dinghies available to help folks to the "raft".  Actually, it would be to their assigned berths.  Also, the harbor permits anchoring out in the harbor if people prefer to do that and avoid the berthing fees.  SORRY CARRY OVER FROM THE LAST USE  -- I THINK THESE ARE ALL FIXED NOW

3.  I do not have any pictures of the 2008 event to share with you.  Unfortunately there was not a lot of photo worthy shots, especially in the harbor.

4.  You might want to mention that drive ins are welcome, and there is plenty of free parking adjacent to the Tradewinds clubhouse.  Good driving directions are available on the Marina Bay Yacht Harbor site, and the Tradewinds Sailing School and Club site.  DONE - THANKS

5.  I noticed today that the harbor has updated their site at our request to include a copy of their Temporary Berthing Agreement and good dock maps.  It looks like folks can submit the Agreement via e-mail, then send in checks or charge it to credit cards right through that process.  Pretty slick.  However, I might suggest that we include the maps and the application on our site to add to the convenience of handling that for the skippers.  eg. print it out from our site and send in with check.   DONE

Common to all plans, people will have to call in advance to the harbor office to get their slip assignment #.  I have attached to this e-mail both the app. and the maps (I hope).  I'VE LOADED THESE TO OUR SITE WITH LINKS

6.  We probably should mention in the text somewhere that the berth fees are $.50 per foot per day.  Also that the rendezvous registration fee is $15 to help cover expenses.  DONE

7.  People might want to know that the harbormaster will try to group similar sized boats together as folks call in for their slips.  However, this cannot be guaranteed 100% due to the unknown quantity of the various sizes coming in and the order in which they sign up.  Steve the Harbormaster will do his best to group us.   DONE

Please let me know if I can do anything to help you on this, and know that we all appreciate you taking time from your very busy schedule to help so much.

Best personal regards,

Bill

GLAD TO HELP!

KEVIN
