One more item added to the schedule, anyone interested in racing?
This is a reminder of the Fleet 9 cruises we have planned for this summer,
along with some things to think about.
June 27-28
This is an anchor out trip to China Camp and is just a week away. Bob Hayes
has volunteered to lead this cruise, please contact him at
bob.hayes.b8sb at statefarm.com if you are interested in joining this cruise.
July 11-12
Homerun Cruise to South Beach Marina. We have 7 boats signed up for this
cruise to South Beach and the Giants game. Any additional boats will need to
arrange for their slip and game tickets on their own. I will send out
details to those who are already signed up in the next week or so.
July 18
Plastic Classic Regatta - The Catalina 36 design is more than 25 years old,
so we are eligible to compete in the Bay View Boat Club's Plastic Classic
Regatta. This is a one race event, 10 to 12 miles in the south bay off of
Pier 54. We can qualify as a One Design Class (with our own start) if we get
5 boats to sign up. The registration cost is $35, with online sign up by
July 11. Go to http://www.bayviewboatclub.org/RacingDocs2009/PC_Entry.html
for the online entry form. Please contact Kelvin Philips at
kelvinaphilips at yahoo.com if you are interested in competing in this race.
Aug 15-16
Bodega Bay - I would think this should be a 3 or 4 day trip at the least. If
anyone is interested in this please contact Dennis Garrison at
Dennis-Garrison at Sac-City.K12.CA.US
Are there any suggestions of alternate destinations for those who may still
be working that we could do in 2 days?
September 5-6-7, Labor Day Weekend
This is the traditional trip to Half Moon Bay, down on Saturday and return
on Monday. Personally, we like HMB, but have also done HMB every Labor Day
as long as we have owned our boat. My question is, does anyone want to go
somewhere else for 3 days? Please contact Dennis Garrison at
Dennis-Garrison at Sac-City.K12.CA.US with any feedback on this.
Please communicate any ideas, suggestions, or plans to participate to the
people listed above.
Thanks,
Chuck Herman
