[Fleet9] Bottom paint

Hello sailors,

I have a question and an offer.

Question: How much paint does it take to put two coats of bottom paint on a
Catalina 36. I have a MKI but I would imagine that would not make much
difference.

Offer: I am thinking it will take about 2 ½ gallons of bottom paint to put
two coats. I want to use Ameron ABC3 ablative paint. This paint is used by
many of the tug boats in the bay and by ships in the US Navy. The Navy gets
five years between haulouts with this paint. The only down side is that it
only comes in 5 gallon cans. So if I only need 2.5 gallons for two coats
then I will have some to sell. Would anyone be interested in sharing the
cost of a can of this paint with me? Five gallons cost about $540 with tax,
so $270 for half a can.

Now that we have that out of the way
who wants to help me sand the bottom
of the boat???
