Howdy Sailors,
It's time! Day light change Saturday night, stay up and watch your GPS
change.
We go, sailing is a requirement for us Saturday, as the plan below.
In attendance we have
. Perseverance
. Migration
. Gone with the Wind
. Kyra's Joy
. ??
Possible
Champagne
??
The drill:
Meet at 1100 at Alpha/Bravo Span Bay Bridge. Sail (motor) out the gate, go
play, and downwind to the marina!
VHF Channel 71
And for all the pop quiz question "What is Alfa/Bravo?" Check your charts,
the bridge towers/stanchions are labeled by letter starting with "A" at the
San Francisco side. If you listen to VTS on 14 you will hear these
referenced all the time. Anytime there is a letter buoy or mark, it is
referred to in the phonetic word for that letter. Hence the Whisky Buoy is
the Western entrance buoy in the traffic separation area at the "lightship"
or the buoy at the 10 mile VTS area.
Conclusion, the Alpha Bravo span is the big span on the San Francisco side
of the Bay Bridge.
If your plans change or you would like to join at the last minute, please
give us a shout on the VHF, be great to see ya!
Please feel free to contact me if you have any needs, or questions,
Jeff
